Best Charter Yacht Chefs in Greece

What’s the best thing about a luxury yacht charter in Greece? The incredible beaches? The unparalleled service? The incredible history in every port of call? Ask any foodie, though, and you’re bound the hear that it’s the food.

It’s true! Aboard a luxury charter yacht, the food is incredible. You and your guests are served throughout your trip by a chef who creates a custom menu based on your preferences.

But which charter chefs in Greece are the best? That’s a challenging question to answer, because no matter what superyacht you charter, the food is guaranteed to be incredible. At the recent 2018 Mediterranean Yacht Show, though, that question might have gotten a more definitive answer.

During the show’s Chef Competition, chefs from top Greece charter yachts duked it out for the title of best chef. Here’s a look at the winners.

About the Greece Chef Competition 2018

Since launching five years ago, the Mediterranean Yacht Show has brought together the best of the best in the yachting industry. Each year, though, the Chef Competition is a fan favorite.

The best chefs in the yachting industry compete head-to-head to wow top culinary judges (including a few Michelin star winners). And this year was no different. Chefs were asked to build incredible Surf ‘n Turf dishes using Greek ingredients.

This year, the Greek coastal town of Nafplion hosted the competition, and the competition was held over two days. Chef Georgianna Hiliadaki, a 2 Michelin star chef, and Chef Antonio Mellino, a 2 Michelin star chef, judged the competition. Yachts entered in two different categories: A and Platinum, depending on the yacht’s daily rate. After two days of tasting and judging, the winners were:

Category A

  • First: Konstantinos Vlantikas of M/Y Nashira NV
  • Second: Sotirios Bempedelis of S/Y Nova
  • Third: Nicholas Papkonstantinou of M/Y Thirty Love

  • First: Andrea Vercelli of M/Y Option B
  • Second: Ioannis Venieris of M/Y L’Equinox
  • Third: Dimitris Brinios of M/Y Martina
