When to Go
Thailand’s west coast is known for its tropical weather. Being situated near the equator, the country’s southern reaches can get quite hot, and the region does have a rainy season. For the best weather, head to Thailand during the peak charter season – from November to April – although if you don’t mind the heat or occasional rain, you can enjoy a Thailand yacht charter any time of year.
- When to Go: The dry months in Thailand are November to April, and this is primarily when charter guests flock to the country. From May to October, Thailand experiences its Southwest Monsoon, during which the winds pick up and rain is more common.
- What to Expect: During the dry season, Thailand offers ideal weather conditions in the mid-80s. It can get hot, but with perfect-temperature waters, you can always cool off. From May to October, the winds pick up and rain is much more common – there’s typically a rain shower in the afternoon, and can rain for a few days continuously. From July to October, the rain is much more constant, with as many as 5 days or more of continuous rain.
- Water Conditions: No matter the time of year, the waters in Thailand are perfect for swimming. They’re bathwater warm – usually in the mid-70s or 80s. And from November to April, the conditions are perfect for sailing, with calm waters and 2-3 foot waves.

Water Sports
Thanks to Thailand’s tropical climate, the region’s waters are balmy year-round – perfect for a swim or any number of watersports. Surfing is popular south of Phuket in hamlets like Nai Harn, while sea kayaking can be done in any of Thailand’s numerous lagoons. Whether you like kitesurfing, waterskiing, or standup paddleboarding, there are plenty of idyllic coves and beaches to discover while on your Thailand yacht charter in the Andaman Sea.
Fishing
The Andaman Sea is a sportfishing mecca, as anglers from around the world come here for the region’s bill fish and tuna fishing. Marlin and Sailfish – two billfish varieties – are big game in the waters, as are Whitefin and Yellowfin tuna. Fishing is particularly fruitful during the high season from November to April.
Hot Springs
Throughout the province of Krabi, natural hot springs pools are tucked away in lush jungle landscapes, and the waters are rich with relaxing minerals. Check out Namtok Ron, a hot springs waterfall, which is a popular spot inland in the Khlong Tom district. The pools, which sit in the middle of a running river, offer the best of the best in relaxation.
Island Hopping
Phang Nga Bay is home to more than 1,000 tiny islands, offering yacht charter guests the perfect landscape to explore by sea.
