Raiatea Yacht Charters
Raiatea is the center of Tahiti and South Pacific yacht charters
Raiatea is the most sacred island in the South Pacific, an it’s name translates to “faraway heaven” and “sky with soft light.” This, the second largest island in French Polynesia, lies with its sister island of Tahaa in between the two popular destinations of Tahiti and Bora Bora.
The island of Raiatea is often overlooked by tourists, but yacht charters to this enchanted island offer a variety of unique scenery, history, culture, and nature that cannot be found elsewhere. Not to mention the solitude of a tropical island that is typically skipped over by the majority of travelers.
Mount Temehani, the volcanic mountain that is dressed in stunning green foliage, is part of ancient legends that are still retold. Upon this majestic mountain is the Tiare Apetahi flower, so rare that it found nowhere else on earth.
As you approach the beautiful island of Raiatea, you will notice something that makes this isle different from Bora Bora, Tahiti, or Moorea. Her rocky landscape seems to be lacking in the pristine beaches found on other areas in the Society Islands. However, instead, Raiatea and Tahaa both feature deserted outlying isles, known as motus. Motus allow charter guests their own private white sand beach for a picnic or sunbathing.
Raiatea yacht charter guests also enjoy ample time in the warm, azure water. Take jetskis or the tender out in the protected waters around the island itself or go kayaking on the Faaroa River, which laces through the verdant rainforest interior. Visitors also enjoy hiking to the peak of Mount Temehani or go on a safari tour through the deep jungle, where you are sure to spot many historical remnants on this archaeological site.
