Huahine Yacht Charters
Huahine is a jewel among the Sociaty Islands of South Pacific
A Huahine yacht charter is an escape into a modern day Garden of Eden. This verdant tropical jungle features abundant coconut plantations, vanilla orchids, banana groves, fields of watermelon, and flowering breadfruit trees. Tahiti yacht charters to Huahine allow guests to experience not only the amazing array of flora and fauna but also the history and culture of the area.
Also known as The Garden Island, the island is divided into two sections, Huahine Nui (or big) and Huahine Iti (or small). Located near Raiatea, Taha’a, and Bora Bora, Huahine share her neighbors’ beauty, but lacks in popularity with the tourists. Yacht charter guests can enjoy the stunning landscape and pristine beaches, all in relative privacy from the crowds of nearby islands. Due to its quiet atmosphere, this stunning island still maintains signs of early Polynesia and the locals pride themselves on preserving their culture and their scenery.
Huahine is not only the center of Polynesian culture, it is home to the largest concentration of ancient temples (or marae) which may date back to the earliest inhabitants around 700 AD. Just outside of Maeve Village, you can see the largest stone temple along with hundreds of excavated structures. Many more have yet to be uncovered completely by archaeologists. In Lake Fauna Nui lie sacred stone fish traps and Matairea Hill touts the remains of numerous religious monuments.
While the island itself is quiet in comparison to other Tahiti islands, Huahine is not boring in the least. The main town of Fare has a Sunday morning outdoor market, where charter guests can choose from fresh fruit and produce that is trucked in locally. Water sports abound and guests make full use of the tenders and toys on their private luxury yachts to enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, and many other water activities.
