Yacht Charters
Ibiza’s reputation is both accurate and incomplete. Its famous nightlife is real – the summer club calendar runs from June through September with a consistency and scale that no other island in the Mediterranean matches. For guests who want that, there is nowhere better. But the island that yacht charter guests spend their days in is a different place entirely, and one that the standard Ibiza narrative tends to skip over.
The northern and eastern coastline is quiet, with coves and small beaches that attract none of the Platja d’en Bossa traffic. The old city, Dalt Vila, is a UNESCO-listed walled citadel with views across the harbor that predate the clubs by about five hundred years. The water around the island, and particularly the short passage south to Formentera, is some of the clearest in the western Mediterranean.
A private yacht lets you take in all of it: the mornings at anchor in a northern cove, the afternoons at a beach club, the evenings in the harbor, and the option of leaving Ibiza altogether for Formentera when you need a quiet day as a counterpoint to the delirium of the nightlife.
A luxury yacht charter in Ibiza promises a lifetime of stories.
Ibiza Yacht Charters At a Glance
Ibiza’s charter season runs June through September, with the club calendar and peak demand concentrated in July and August. Most charters depart from Ibiza Town harbor or Marina Botafoch. Motor yachts run from €50,000 per week; sailing yachts and catamarans from €25,000; superyachts from €250,000 and up. A trip to Formentera is a natural extension, around 10 nautical miles south. Spanish VAT (IVA) applies.
Charter Yacht Types for Ibiza
Motor Yachts
Motor yachts are the most popular charter vessel in Ibiza, and the island is set up for them in a way that reflects the demand. Marina Botafoch, across the harbor from Ibiza Town, is the main superyacht berth and has the restaurants and nightlife access that guests arriving on large vessels expect. A motor yacht also makes the Formentera run practical as a same-day trip, and covers the island’s spread of anchorages, from the rocky northwest to the sheltered coves of the southeast, without requiring an overnight commitment to any one part of the island. Luxury motor yacht charters in Ibiza start from €50,000 per week.
Catamarans
Catamarans are particularly well-suited to the Ibiza-Formentera circuit, since their shallow draft opens up the most beautiful anchorages around Formentera’s Ses Illetes beach and the Es Pujols sandbar. The wide deck and stability of catamarans suit guests who want a more relaxed pace, with long afternoons at anchor, easy access to the water, and the flexibility to stay put when a cove is too good to leave. Catamaran charters in Ibiza start from €25,000 per week.
Superyachts
Ibiza in July and August is one of the Mediterranean’s great superyacht gatherings. Marina Botafoch has berthing and services for the largest vessels in the fleet, and the social calendar of beach clubs, restaurant openings, and the general intensity of the high season makes Ibiza Town harbor one of the more theatrical arrivals in the western Mediterranean. Ibiza superyacht charters start from €250,000 per week.

Booking an Ibiza Yacht Charter: When to Go?
Ibiza’s charter season runs June through September, and the timing matters more here than on most other islands, because the nightlife calendar and the charter calendar are essentially the same thing. The headline clubs open in June, hit their peak in July and August, and close for the season in late September. If the club calendar is part of why you’re coming, the window is specific and the berths fill accordingly.
June is often the best month for guests who want the island at its most sociable without the full intensity of peak summer. The weather is excellent, the clubs are open, and the anchorages along the north coast are still manageable. September, however, has a magic all of its own as the crowds thin, the water is at its warmest, and the island reverts to something closer to its year-round self. Guests who discover Ibiza in September tend to book it again.

Ibiza Yacht Charter Destinations
Sure, Ibiza is best known for its nightlife. In fact, dozens of hip hop and dance songs pay homage to the island’s legendary party scene.
Yet, beyond the bass and club lights, you’ll find plenty of unique, relaxing, and inspiring sights and attractions. From exploring ancient ruins to paddling around the island’s hidden coves, an Ibiza yacht charter offers a packed itinerary of fun activities.
Las Salinas Salt Flats
A protected natural landmark at Ibiza's southern tip.
Las Salinas sits at the southernmost point of Ibiza, where the salt flats, still commercially harvested, meet a long stretch of protected beach that has become one of the island’s most sought-after spots. The beach at Ses Salines is where the more discerning end of Ibiza’s crowd tends to gather: the restaurants and beach clubs here have a different register from the Platja d’en Bossa strip, with better food and a clientele that’s more interested in a long lunch than in being seen. Arriving by tender puts you directly on the beach without the car park logistics that define the experience for everyone arriving overland.
Can Marça Caves
A sea cave in the north of the island with a history of smugglers (and stalactites).
Can Marcà sits in the cliffs above Port de Sant Miquel on Ibiza’s north coast, accessed through a tunnel carved into the rock by the smugglers who used it as a depot for centuries. The cave is genuinely impressive, with stalactites and stalagmites built up over millennia, an underground lake, and a light-and-sound show that makes the most of the formations. It’s one of the more unusual shore excursions on the island and works particularly well as a morning stop before heading back to the anchorage at Port de Sant Miquel, one of the most sheltered bays on the north coast.
Ibiza Town
One of the Mediterranean’s most animated harbors sits below an ancient walled citadel.
Ibiza Town is the island’s most compelling destination and the natural base for any charter. The lower town, Sa Penya and La Marina, is where the restaurants, boutiques, and nightlife concentrate along the harbor front. Above it, Dalt Vila, the walled upper city, is a different place entirely with cobblestone streets, the 14th-century cathedral, and views from the ramparts that take in the harbor, the salt flats to the south, and – on a clear day – Formentera. The contrast between the two is one of the things that makes Ibiza Town a fascinating visit.
Dalt Vila UNESCO Site
One of the best-preserved walled cities in the western Mediterranean.
Dalt Vila was built by Charles V in the 16th century to defend against Ottoman and pirate raids, and the walls he left behind are among the most complete Renaissance-era fortifications in Spain. The seven bastions and the citadel they enclose are now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the contrast between the ancient stonework above and the marina activity below is one of the more striking things about approaching Ibiza Town from the water.
Ibiza Cathedral
A magnificent cathedral built in the 14th century.
Located on the charming Plaza de Carrosa and Plaza de la Vila town squares, this cathedral, built in 1399, provides a chance to go back in time. The cathedral’s walls are lined with 14th and 15th-century murals, as well as silver and gold adornments. Tour the cathedral and then walk along Plaza de Carrosa for lunch or shopping.
Es Verda Island
The most photographed rock in the western Mediterranean.
Es Vedra is an uninhabited limestone island rising 413 meters from the sea off Ibiza’s southwest coast, visible from most of the island’s western beaches. It’s one of those landmarks that somehow looks more dramatic in person than in photographs. The surrounding waters are a marine reserve, with exceptional visibility and a variety of sea life that makes the area one of the better snorkeling spots around Ibiza.
The sunset from this corner of the island is, by general consensus, the finest on Ibiza.
Aquarium Cap Blanc
One of Spain’s most unique aquariums.
This might be one of Spain’s most unique aquariums. Located in a sea cave outside of San Antonio, Cap Blanc is part cave-tour, part wildlife exploration. Take the kids and explore the many exhibits, featuring morays and rays, as well as many different types of fish.
Ibiza Yacht Charter Cost: What to Expect
Ibiza commands a premium over comparable vessels in the region during peak season; Marina Botafoch berths for large vessels in July and August are among the most sought-after in the Balearics, and that scarcity is reflected in the rates. Motor yacht charters in Ibiza start from €50,000 per week; catamarans and sailing yachts start from €25,000; superyachts from €250,000 and up.
June and September offer great value: the club calendar is still running, the weather is excellent, and berth availability is considerably less constrained. All charters are quoted on an MYBA basis with an APA of 25-30% covering fuel, provisioning, and marina fees. Spanish VAT applies.

Ibiza Yacht Charters Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best type of yacht for an Ibiza charter?
Motor yachts are the most popular choice and Ibiza is well set up for them; Marina Botafoch has the infrastructure for large vessels, and a motor yacht gives you the flexibility to move between the island’s different anchoring grounds and beach clubs without committing your day to a single passage. Catamarans are the natural choice for guests who want to make the most of the Formentera anchorages, where the shallow draft is a genuine advantage. For guests whose priority is the daytime island, with the northern coves, the snorkeling around Es Vedra, and the slower pace that the south of the island offers in the afternoon, a sailing yacht or catamaran at a lower price point often delivers more of what they’re actually looking for than a motor yacht.
What is the best time of year for an Ibiza yacht charter?
June through September. July and August are peak season, and for guests who want the full Ibiza experience, with the club calendar in full swing, the harbor at its most animated, and the beach clubs at capacity, that window is the only one. June and September give you most of the same things at a lower intensity and a lower price, with anchorages that are noticeably quieter during the day. September in particular has a loyal following among guests who return to Ibiza year after year.
How much does an Ibiza yacht charter cost?
Motor yachts charter from around €50,000 per week; catamarans and sailing yachts from €25,000; superyachts from €250,000 and up. Ibiza carries a higher peak-season premium than Mallorca at comparable vessel sizes, particularly for marina berths in July and August. All charters are on an MYBA basis with 25-30% APA covering fuel, provisioning, and marina fees. Spanish VAT applies.
Can I charter a motor yacht in Ibiza?
Yes, and it’s the most popular vessel type on the island. Marina Botafoch was developed specifically to accommodate the large vessels that Ibiza’s summer season attracts, with berthing, provisioning, and services for yachts of any size. The harbor’s central location puts the restaurants and nightlife of Ibiza Town within walking distance, while the island’s anchorages, from the exposed western coves at sunset to the sheltered bays of the northeast, are all within easy reach. Luxury motor yacht charters in Ibiza start from €50,000 per week.
Can I charter a yacht from Ibiza to Formentera?
Yes, and it’s one of the most natural short passages in the Balearics. Formentera is around 10 nautical miles south of Ibiza Town – a comfortable run of under an hour by motor yacht, or a pleasant afternoon sail. Many guests who charter in Ibiza spend at least one or two nights at anchor around Formentera, particularly off Ses Illetes on the north tip, which has water clarity and color that rivals anywhere in the Mediterranean. Catamarans are especially well-suited to the Formentera anchorages due to their shallow draft. A week-long charter can cover both islands without feeling rushed.
Is Ibiza good for a day charter?
Day charters are available in Ibiza through local operators, but they fall outside what Worldwide Boat arranges. Our Ibiza charters are fully crewed, week-long private charters, a different category of experience, and one that tends to make the question of what to fit into a single day feel somewhat beside the point once you’re aboard. If you’re weighing whether a week-long charter is right for your trip, our charter specialists are happy to talk through what a typical Ibiza itinerary looks like and whether it suits what you have in mind.
What are the best beaches to visit on an Ibiza yacht charter?
The island divides roughly into two beach experiences. The south, including Ses Salines, Cala Jondal, and the stretch around Las Salinas, has the best-known beaches with the most established beach clubs and the clearest water on that side of the island. The north and east are quieter. Cala Salada, Cala Gració, and the coves around Portinatx have the kind of water and setting that justify a tender trip ashore in the morning before anywhere else is awake. Es Vedra’s Cala d’Hort is worth a dedicated afternoon for the view of the rock and the fish at the restaurants above the beach.
What is included in a crewed Ibiza yacht charter?
The base charter fee covers the vessel, the full crew, and all onboard equipment. The Advance Provisioning Allowance, which is 25-30% of the charter fee, paid upfront, covers meals, beverages, fuel, and marina fees, including Marina Botafoch berth arrangements where applicable. Spanish VAT applies to the base fee; any unspent APA is returned at the end of the charter. Worldwide Boat’s team handles itinerary planning, restaurant reservations in Ibiza Town, and beach club arrangements as part of the booking process.
