Fjords of Norway
A Norway yacht charter offers an exceptional way to explore the country’s legendary fjords. Shaped by successive ice ages, these dramatic waterways cut through Western Norway between towering mountains, cascading waterfalls and ancient glaciers.
The fjords are also rich in wildlife, with opportunities to encounter seals, eagles, whales and abundant marine life. Along their shores, traditional villages reflect a close connection to the surrounding landscape and local way of life.
Several Norwegian fjords are designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites, recognized for their extraordinary natural scenery. Sheer crystalline rock walls rise thousands of feet above the water, while some fjords descend more than 1,600 feet below the Norwegian Sea.
Explore Norway’s most spectacular yacht charter destinations by private yacht and experience its fjords from an entirely different perspective.

Hjørundfjord
A 22-mile arm of Storfjorden, Hjørundfjord winds through dense forests and the dramatic Sunnmørsalpene mountains, where peaks rise to approximately 5,600 feet. Small villages including Bjørke, Leira, Viddal and Urke line its shores.
Hardangerfjord
Known as the “Queen of the Fjords,” Hardangerfjord stretches 111 miles, making it Norway’s second-longest fjord. Its scenery combines mountains, waterfalls, glaciers, orchards and blossoming fruit trees, creating one of Norway’s most distinctive cruising landscapes.
Sognefjord
Known as the “King of the Fjords,” Sognefjord is Norway’s longest fjord, extending 127 miles inland and reaching depths exceeding 1,300 meters. The region includes part of Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier in continental Europe, alongside green farmland, mountain peaks and cascading fjords.
Geirangerfjord
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Geirangerfjord is renowned for dramatic waterfalls and historic abandoned farms. The celebrated Seven Sisters (De Syv Søstre) and Friaren (the Suitor) face one another across the fjord, creating one of Norway’s most recognizable natural scenes.
Nærøyfjord
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sognefjord’s most famous arms, Nærøyfjord extends approximately 12 miles through an exceptionally narrow landscape of towering mountains, deep valleys, waterfalls, snowfields and small hamlets.
