Sifnos Yacht Charters – Things to Do & See

Sifnos island yacht charters

Apollonia: Built in the shape of an amphitheater, and encompassing three hills in the center of the island, Apollonia is the capital of Sifnos. It is home to narrow streets lined with picturesque whitewashed houses. With all of the makings of a traditional Greek settlement, Apollonia also offers yacht charter guests e a range of cozy restaurants, classic tavernas, and a lively nightlife.

Artemonas: Close to the capital of Sifnos, Artemonas is a traditional village that has become characterized by its panoramic island views, majestic mansions that reflect both Venetian and neoclassical styles, and famous local fare – like pastry shops with hot donuts, homemade cookies and tasty Greek sweets. Named after Artemis, a hunting goddess in Greek mythology, the quaint village of Artemis has the second largest population on all of Sifnos: less than 1,000 inhabitants. Part of a larger community that includes Agia Marina, Cherrónisos and Trouláki, Artemonas is the perfect place for those yacht charter guests in need of a quiet escape with a local feel.

Kástro: Named after the Greek word for “castle,” Kastro is an ancient settlement situated on a rock in Sifnos, one that overlooks a breathtaking view of the sapphire Aegean sea. Characterized by the old houses with wooden balconies surrounding its exterior, as well as its cozy courtyards and classic columns, Kastro emanates a traditional and historic feel. With arcade-like entrances that once protected the settlement during wartime, this castle is also home to a quaint church, raised high above the sea from its place on a jagged rock formation.
