When to Go

Bahamas Yachting Season

The Bahamas are a year-round yacht charter destination, with weather patterns that closely mirror South Florida. Winters in the Bahamas are cooler than the rest of the Caribbean, and temperatures can occasionally drop to mid-to-low 60s, especially between December and February. Late spring and early summer have the best weather for boat rentals with warm temperatures, calmer waters, sunny skies and fair winds.

Cruising Conditions

The Bahamas enjoy excellent yachting conditions year-round. That’s due in part to the steady trade winds and warm temperatures. No matter the time of year, temperatures hover in the upper-70s to low-80s, especially through the central and southern islands. In the northwest, including the Abacos and Bimini, winter lows can dip into the low-60s.

The Bahamas has a moderate tidal range of 3.5 feet, yet throughout the year, the islands are blessed with relatively calm waters. Swimming is great year-round, with water temperatures rarely dropped below the mid-70s.
