Coming to South Florida at the age of seven from Port Au Prince, Haiti, Rod has always spent his life near the water. After graduating high school, Rod decided to serve his country by enlisting in the most elite military branch in the world, the U.S. Marine Corps. This fused his love for the water and travel as the Corps stationed Rod in Japan to fulfill roles in administration and intelligence.
After serving for four years, Rod joined the yachting industry where he worked as a Charter Manager for a top Fort Lauderdale yacht brokerage. With his admirable communication skills, Rod is dedicated to fulfilling every inquiry to the fullest extent. With a passion for relationship building, marketing, and yachting itself, Rod knew early on that this was his calling.
Now as Charter Manager at Worldwide Boat, Rod is responsible for marketing fleets of yachts to brokers worldwide, booking charters, growing his fleet, ensuring each yacht has savvy and appropriate crew members, and staying up-to-date on all yachts, the crew and their calendar.
When Rod is not coordinating yacht trips for others, you better believe you can still find him near the ocean. He loves spending time at the beach, helping kids with sports development, playing basketball, skydiving, or seeing an old-fashioned movie. Rod also has dreams of becoming a recreational pilot and is currently taking the steps necessary to get his pilot’s license.
If there is one thing Rod wants to leave you with, it is to live by the “Golden Rules”:
- Never criticize, always encourage.
- Find something you care about and care deeply.
- Treat others the way you want to be treated.
