Island Lefkas, part of the Ionian Islands in Greece, offers a beautiful overview of Onassis Island from the east, and some of the best beaches and sunset views from the west.
Lefkas is close enough to the mainland to be connected by a bridge, giving easy automobile access, although most people prefer to visit the area on a Greece yacht charter. Water sports – including swimming, scuba diving, and windsurfing – are popular, as well as hiking and cycling. The beaches are relaxing as well as beautiful or you can explore the ancient archaeological sites.
This Greek island is less commercial than the surrounding islands, offering quiet and seclusion and a bit of untamed wilderness. You may see small villages with stone buildings, Greek men out on fishing boats and Greek women sitting together crocheting. It is quaint and beautiful, while still offering everything that travelers may need, especially at Nidri and Vassiliki.
